Banken splitsen is geen goed idee (Dutch)

Met zekere regelmaat blijft het idee opduiken dat banken kunnen worden opgesplitst in een ‘nutsdeel’ en een risicovol deel. Dit uit zich dan in oproepen tot het afsplitsen van de ‘investment banking’-activiteiten van banken. De uitwerking is om meerdere redenen heel erg lastig.

At a rate of 0.9% (q-o-q), real economic growth in the first quarter was higher than expected. The increase was due to a surge in private investment growth. Economic growth on an annual basis is expected to average 2% for 2011.
