Ruud Schers

Ruud Schers is responsible for the analysis of the sugar sector, as well as various cross-sectoral research projects that have a political angle. Topics that Ruud was involved in during the past years include: reform of Common Agricultural Policy and EU sugar market, trade wars, developments of seeds and crop protection markets and the role of China in F&A supply chains.

Ruud holds a LL.M in Dutch Law (University of Maastricht) and a Master Degree in Legislation (Academy of Legislation, the Hague). Previously he worked for Copa-Cogeca, the representative organisation for European farmers and agricultural cooperatives in Brussels, and the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.
